Andre Agassi on Roger Federer in his autobiography, Open,
It’s real simple. Most players have weaknesses. Federer has none.
Had to smile with that one! Federer has been unbeatable for a time, and surely, his opponents must have felt that this was true!
But as any other human being, and it being a fact of life, I’m sure he does have a weakness. Yung nga lang, I know it would be easier to decipher insurance marketing than to find a flaw in Federer’s game!
As for me, watching him is always a pleasure…graceful, poised Federer is such a gift to tennis!

Here’s a picture of my nephew Eao playing the “flute”:
Syempre the flute is for kids. And it’s more like a “piano” than a “flute” with regards to the keys. But it’s nice to see my very makulit nephew [who I suspect is bordering on having ADHD…he! he! peace Eao!] learning to play something other than curtain rods and spring plungers! Currently, he’s trying to learn “Happy Birthday”! The thing is, he keeps on playing just the high notes, much to the ache of our ears! Imagine banshees on the loose!
Recently, he secretly told me that he wants to learn the violin [like his Tita Nes does, but a smaller violin daw]. So I told him that if he’s serious about it, I’ll buy him a small violin!
Oooh…I can almost hear the screeches now!
But what can I say, I fully support him!
Here’s a little something better than weight loss stories to spice up your day. Enjoy!
Funny! Pero bet tayo MOST of us are guilty of “mishandling” the words of a song!
Remember this? Well, our baby arrived over the holidays, much to the delight of Wendy!
The things this doll can do are really amazing. When she smiles, cries, yawns, her facial features go with her feelings! Grabe!
Anyway, Wendy is enjoying being a “mom” [that makes me a grandama]! We bought some real diapers for her [naubos na yung toy diapers, which are more expensive; at least we need not worry about buying her wrinkle cream]. We feed her water; we let her sleep! She even talks and laughs! So much fun!
Wendy and her friends love playing with Lizzie…but I think they are having fun trying to make pretend that they are grown-ups!
What a nice, nice morning!
I started off with one of my favorite breakfasts, pandesal with Pan de Manila’s Herb Cream Cheese (I don’t mind the calories for now, I have the best weight loss pills).Yummy! From this alone, I know I’m in for a very nice day!
What’s more, it’s Friday! Yay! What can I say but “thank God it’s Friday!”
Have a great Friday everyone!
The other night, I saw Wendy using the computer. She had on this serious face that I thought she was searching for personal budget software.
KG: Wends, what are you doing?
Wendy: Hinahanap ko lyrics ng kanta ni Manny Villar.
A while later, she was singing.
At kanyang plano’y magka-bahay tayo?
Si Villar ang tunay na mahirap.
si Villar ang tunay na may malasakit.
Si Villar ang may kakayahan
At gumawa ng sariling pangalan.
Si Manny Villar ang magtatapos
ng ating kahirapan.
I later asked her if she could vote, who will she vote. With a straight face, she said, “Manny Villar.”
Ah, the power of a catchy jingle!
The earthquake that hit Haiti has left me disturbed.
At first, I thought it was just a “minor” tragedy. But as I read the news and saw the pictures of injured persons walking around aimlessly, dead people being pulled out of rubble, damaged properties beyond repair, collapsed buildings reminding me of exposed acne treatment system, my heart started to ache because of the human suffering I see.
I don’t want to imagine what they are going through. I don’t want to think about it! The devastation is so clear on the victim’s faces that my heart aches for them.
My prayer goes to them, in the hope that they get through this ordeal. And my prayer goes also to us here, that we may never experience such a tragedy.
Let us pray for the Haitians and all those affected by this deadly earthquake.

While people in Haiti are at a loss on how to get up and pick the pieces after a natural tragedy, Pat Robertson [of the 700 Club] had the nerve to say that the earthquake happened because of a pact made by Haitians with the devil and, thus, that the Haitians have been cursed since then.
The nerve! OOOhhh, how I don’t like these “religious” people who are always the first to judge others!
To say such a thing amidst disaster and human suffering is uncalled for! If you are of that opinion, keep it to yourself. These people need help, not admonition, not judgment!
These personalities should choose their words carefully!
(I think this guy needs a heart, a mind, a stomach, a mouth, a colon cleanse! Cleanse his whole body for that matter! What made him say that?)
Yesterday, Mordsith, an office mate, and I were talking about the mantras of some presidentiables when Mordsith told us a funny one:
Manny Villar: Sipag at Tiyaga!
Gibo: Galing at Talino! [I honestly didn’t know about this one]
Noynoy Aquino: Mama at Papa!
So amusing! I laughed so hard! [At least no one made mention of acne nodules!]
Well, I laughed but I sensed some truth in there…
[Later in the evening, my sister told me may addition pa yung kay Noynoy: Mama at Papa + Little Sister!]
Have you heard of Poject 365? In summary, the site encourages us to take a picture a day to serve as sort of a diary.
Honestly, it made sense to me. I love looking back at what I’ve done in the past, and taking a picture a day would certainly help in remembering what transpired, what I did, or what happened to me in a particular day. What a nice way to keep a diary (just be sure to have online backup). I can already imagine myself looking at past pictures and saying, “Ay, noon ko pala ito binili.” “Sa ganitong date pala umalis si friend.” Or something in those lines.
I started one already…and if you’re keen, you’ll be led there. For the meantime, I’m keeping the photo-diary underground.
