PS, One more fool-proof way to know who your real friends are: Take a long vacation and do not stay in those posh las vegas or new orleans hotels, but instead at cheap hotels. If you survive the trip and do not rip each other’s throat at some point, you’re real friends! This is tested and proven!
If you have never been hated by your child, you have never been a parent.–Bette Davis
Debatable?
Of course! But I know for a fact that Wendy, at one point in her 8 years, has hated me. Maybe not the serious leaves-a-scar-in-your-heart type of pain, but yes, she has “hated” me. [She won’t admit it know, but I know that she has thought of strangling me! He! He!]
I believe that children are the diamonds in a parents’ lives, but they are loose diamonds. We are to treasure them, but we should be “hard” on them. We are to love them ,but we are also to teach them. We are first anf foremost their parents, and if molding them to be the best person they can be involves a bit of hard polishing [and, yes, hating’, then so be it!
