It’s 9 a.m. Saturday, and I haven’t even felt the predicted “wrath” of Pepeng yet.
It was predicted to be so strong [even that it would be a signal 5 typhoon] that I went into panic buying yesterday. Well, not too much of buying part, but more of the panic part! He! He! But upto now, I’m still searching for signs of Pepeng!
Not that I’m complaining though. Yes, I think we won’t be needing the stuff I bought yesterday. But hey, better to wear a gown and tuxedo to the formal party than to be underdressed right? On top of that, I’m happy if the typhoon wouldn’t be felt…some of our fellow Filipinos haven’t even recuperated yet from typhoon Ondoy. And I can’t imagine how this one would devastate them more. So go the the seas Pepeng, and neer come back!
Here’s hoping that the weather will continue to be good to us all today!
pareho tayo, i tried na magpanic buying din. kaso, sa market, haba ng pila! at naubos yung mga delata. so, i went to select, bought nagaraya, chipsahoy, piatos, at 2 sardines. hehehe. wala namang pila kasi, so, nasip ko, balik an lang ako. bumili din pala ako ng flashlight, posporo, at lighter.
tama, better prepared than sorry.

I feel quite the same way. To the sacrifice of much needed rest the other day, Mom and I went out to buy all precautionary stuff too. Bruno has been even wrapped in its car cover since the other night, and I took my day off yesterday just to be with Mom for the anticipated landfall kasi ayoko nang maulit ung dati na habang humahagupit si Ondoy wala ako sa bahay.
Only to find out that a day-to-day rainfall is even worse.
Yes, of course, we’re happy that PEPENG didn’t push through with its wrath, why not. But forecasts were just too OVERRATED; everybody went GAGA tapos namuti mata naten sa kakaantay ng kahit isang taghoy man lang ng bagyo.
Thanks for this blog post. At least I feel consoled a bit. Yeah, better be ready than sorry.
