This post reminds me that I need to get one of those. I usually walk to the grocery store, and this one will really ease the burden of carrying plastic bags.

seriously, we really have to make the best we can to alleviate the devastation of mother earth! attagirl!

ya right! We usually shop at shopwise and we have this sturdy cloth bag that we use in carrying our groceries instead of plastic bags . And theres a promo about that bag; you’ll earn double points in all the produce that fits there. So its really a big deal, you have the points that u can encash later and at the same time youre helping mother earth to lessen the thrash, esp plastics. SM has this environmental promo too but it’s very seldom that I see shoppers carrying these green bags.

Naku! Si misis laging dala ang kanyang Luntian bags everywhere. Sometimes I even have to go back to the “parcark” just to get the bags kasi naiwan.

Sunny: Those SM green bags are too flimsy. We used to have a lot of that too, kaso in about five uses nasira na. Another basura lang.

I always tuck an Envirosaxx in my bag for sudden shopping urges, and it’s great kasi I only have to wash and it (dries in an hour) and it’s good for another go.

i bought a reusable bag at rustan’s at P99 each and is very useful during groceries. my friends almost always grab them after knowing i have one. the result? i end up buying one every time i shop at rustan’s.

also healthy options have their own version and really cool to own for only P50.

but what made me beam with stupid smile is the insistence of baggers and counter girls to use plastic and put them in my bag. they say it’s a store policy. in sm supermarket, they would be glad to use my bag sans their plastic.

I want that too. It would be of great help to the enviroment

edik, that’s what I meant when I said “when I have the chance”. You’re right, yung iba kasing stores, they don’t allow you to use your own bag. I hope they wake up soon.

“posporo na lang, ipaplastic pa” haha, that’s so true! and you’re right - some people in europe bring trolley bags with them whenever they shop. and the plastic bags don’t come free - they charge 0.15 euro cents (i think) average per plastic bag in grocery stores and supermarkets. so they’re sanay magdala ng old plastic bags and canvas bags to put their purchases in. how i wish we could adopt that here in the philippines.

yes, glennville…plastics in europe are sold. kwento ko lang funny experience ko…first time ko mag-grocery in Paris, sa Leaderprice (alam mo siguro yun). When I got to the counter, may tinanong yung cashier, in French! I didn’t understand! So sabi ko, “non” (French for no diba). e malay ko ba kung ano tinatanung nya. Tapos, di nya ko binibigyan ng plastic…panic time ako! San ko ilalagay lahat ng puinamilia ko? So no choice, sinenyasan ko na lang sya ng “can I have a plasctic?” yun pala tinatanong nya, kung kukuha ako plastic. 14 cents sya. sabi siguro nung cashier pa-no no ako tapos bibili rin pala! It was so funny! But it was a lesson learned…and a new lesson on another culture.

I hope we Filipinos get to practice this!

uy nice to have! i use an expandable bag (yun ba tawag dun?) that i got for free sa SM. it’s like a purse when folded and expands to a huge bag when opened. constant companion ko sha sa mall and lalo na sa greenhills.
